Studio City is a trendy and quaint neighborhood of Los Angeles that’s nestled on the north slope of the Santa Monica Mountains in the San Fernando Valley.
The area has been growing since 1927 when Mark Sennett started building the lot now known as CBS Studios, where recent hits like CSI:NY, Will & Grace, Big Brother and That 70’s Show have been filmed.
Studio City is known for its beautiful tree-lined streets and scenery, as well as its selection of dining, nightlife and shopping.
Studio City is also home to Ice Kream, a marijuana dispensary and weed delivery service that has been consistently ranked among the best in Los Angeles by independent review sites. Formerly known as UrbanTreez, Ice Kream continues to serve top-quality products with daily deals and specials.
In addition to being voted Best Dispensary of 2017 by Leafly and Best Dispensary of 2020 by Weedmaps, Ice Kream has racked up some awards at various competitions for its original strains:
Ice Kream is fully licensed by the State of California, and only sells the most consistent, safe and highest quality medical and recreational marijuana available.
The newly renovated Ice Kream, located at 11376 Ventura Boulevard, offers an in-store experience like no other dispensary. Visitors will feel like a kid in a candy shop (or, better yet, an ice cream shop) when they walk inside the dispensary and browse the selection of flowers, concentrates, edibles, cartridges and pre-rolls.
Customers are greeted at the door by a massive 9-panel television screen and a bright, clean and open room filled with the highest quality cannabis products. The vibe at Ice Kream has been described as “fun, clean and playful.” Knowledgeable budtenders are standing by to answer questions and help you find the perfect product.

The US-101 freeway connects Studio City to downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood. Even with normal city traffic, the journey will only take about 15 or 20 minutes.
Studio City is also considered the gateway to the San Fernando Valley, as the main roads (Cahuenga Pass, Laurel Canyon, Coldwater Canyon, Ventura Boulevard and the 101 to name a few) all feed into the Valley’s other neighborhoods, including Sherman Oaks and North Hollywood.
With both subway and bus service, Studio City is also accessible via public transportation. The Metro Red Line’s Universal City Station takes passengers downtown, while the Metro Orange Line takes riders to West San Fernando Valley via bus.
Studio City is located within a prime stretch of Ventura Boulevard, a length of commercial development that stretches through the San Fernando Valley. At 18 miles long, Ventura Boulevard is the world's longest avenue of contiguous businesses.
When the munchies kick in, visit one of the popular sushi restaurants along Ventura Boulevard.
The stretch of dining in Studio City is known as Sushi Row because there are so many sushi establishments clustered in one neighborhood.
Because seafood boats from Japan first land in Los Angeles, the restaurants along Sushi Row offer the freshest sushi dishes in the United States.
Top spots include Asanebo, Katsu-ya, Iroha Sushi of Tokyo, Daiwa Sushi and SUGARFISH.
More movies have been filmed on the Universal Studio lot than any other in the world. Visitors are invited to go behind the scenes of the real working movie studio on a 60-minute tour that spans 13 city blocks just outside of Studio City.
The studio lot spreads across four acres and is the largest set construction project in studio history, built under the vision of Steven Spielberg.
Although the Studio Tour has always been the signature attraction at Universal Studios, visitors can explore an entire theme park based on the most famous productions filmed on the lot. Each visit offers a crash course in set design and guarantees plenty of character sightings.
The Universal CityWalk offers one-of-a-kind shopping, dining and entertainment. A 7-story IMAX theatre gives visitors a chance to watch movies where the movies are made.

Take a stroll through a star-studded residential neighborhood and into the Santa Monica Mountains at the 122-acre Fryman Canyon Park.
Find a large paved parking lot at 8401 Mulholland Drive and take a 3-mile loop on the Betty B. Dearing Trail, which passes through Wilacre Park and Coldwater Canyon Park. With 450 feet of elevation gain, the urban hike and views of the San Fernando Valley is an easy way to get some outside exercise without leaving the city. The trail covers dirt roads and residential streets and includes easy access to picnic tables and a drinking fountain.
Directions and trail maps are available on the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority website.
Incredible Community Feel
I've been coming here for years, since it was Urban Treez. The service, quality and prices were always the best in town. Now. With the advent of the more open store it has an incredible community feel. It feels like the corner store that we all grew up with. I would not recommend anywhere else.
